There was a quote written on my principal's desk, I remember reflecting on during my college days.
“To educate a mind is to awaken its potential.”
I didn’t quite get the meaning of the quote back then but today I live, breathe and sleep it. Everyday, there is a new start-up idea that pops-up in the young Indian minds. Most of them do not realize that they cannot build an empire simply based on an efficient idea.
The actual burn starts when the idea is up on a trail and ready to get grinded in the market. The company I founded and served as CEO for worked as an on-air platform which used to connect customers with the right servicers by understanding the need behind their urge for searching a service in various fields. In those times, I truly saw the damage of how disconnected the entrepreneurs are, as well as they are so much in need of true potential and help.
A clear pattern emerged- the lines between most “ideas” were blurring and lack of proper vision seemed as pervasive as ever. Most of the folks used my platform for building a business model for their ideas.
It was a great personal lesson for me and since then I have dig deep into every single aspect that will help start-ups to flourish. The young hustler that I am has now proceeded to pick up the art of advertisement, design and the skill to get along with the founders to help them in shaping their vision.
In all of this, I still get time to gel up with my guitar tunes (or the next best thing: Developing games with Experience Design).
